We are going to IMS 2023! Founded since 1957, the International Microwave Symposium (IMS) is an annual conference held in North America by the IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society (MTT-S). By far the most prestigious conference in the field of RF & Microwave, it saw the attendance of up to 12,000 people every year with over 1000 technical presentations each year where people from all sides, both industry and academia alike, in the RF & Microwave field converge to connect, network and share the latest ideas.
It is a place of knowledge sharing, exposure to the latest technologies and even promotions for the many new technologies that the industry have achieved. Held at different states in the US, this year (2023) will see it being held at San Diego, California. And for the first time, FILPAL will also be joining the conference, hopeful of meeting friends from the industry, making new connections and sharing our capabilities.
Here are some sessions that we will be participating in this conference:
Industrial Showcase
Date: 12th June 2023
The industrial showcase is a venue for the industry to setup exhibition for showcasing the latest development and breakthrough in the company. Set before the main exhibition on later dates, the industrial showcase gives industry the chance to present and even give a demo on their latest achievements. The showcasing will also have media coverage.
For us, this is a good venue to present and demo our development in the area of AI technology used in RF EDA. Be sure to come visit us if you happen to be around on 12th of June.
Interactive Forum

Aside from paper presentations, IMS 2023 brings together thousands of RF and microwave professionals from the industry and academia to share and impart new ideas in RF and microwave. Each year sees many presentations on the latest theories, technologies and direction of advancement in the field. With over 400+ companies presenting this year, FILPAL is proud to be one of them.
IMS 2023 achieves this by means of plenary session, lecturers, technical presentations, forums and even boot camps to name a few. We will be taking part in the interactive forum. Compared to other modes of presentation, the interactive forum encourages more dialogue and discussions. As we have always focus on the R&D in our hardware designs, naturally we are able contribute into the advancement in RF & Microwave. We will be presenting on “A New Class of Inline Microwave Filter with Transmission Zeros” at 5.50pm — 6.10pm USA time. If you are nearby, how about drop by to hear us present our idea.
Trade Show Exhibition
Date: 13th — 15th June 2023
Since 1972, IMS has incorporated booth exhibitions specially for the industry to display their latest products, to network, as well as to do sales pitches to the many potential customers there. This commercial exhibition attracts 500+ exhibitors annually from the RF industry around the world. All conference attendees have access to the exhibition and it is no doubt one of the main highlight of IMS 2023.
For the first time ever, FILPAL will man a booth in this trade show. We are eager to showcase our OEM service capabilities, our turnkey solution and our recent breakthrough in AI-assisted optimization using reinforcement differential evolution method. Our CEO and founder, Dr. Wong. Peng Wen would be present during the exhibition and we are excited for it! Drop by anytime at our booth during these 3 days to say hello!

Time flies and very soon, we will be heading over for our first ever IMS experience. What would come out of it? How would the whole experience be like? I guess we can only find out!
