When it comes to doing business, making friends is a very important thing to do. Who knows what opportunities may present themselves, what collaborations and partnerships that can happen out of it? And we very much believe in mutual success and benefits.

Penang is sometimes known as the Silicon Valley of the East, because of the electronics industry in it. With Industry 4.0 and 5G happening (the first smart factory, fully automated is recently setup in Batu Kawan), there are a lot of demands into technologies in the RF and Microwave and mmWave field, preferably from local sources, which translates to short lead time and lower cost usually. As a local company with expertise in RF and Microwave/mmWave, and situated in Penang, this presents an opportunity for us to showcase what we can offer, and we are excited to make new friends here!

Last week was an exciting week for us as we have the chance to host and be hosted in many big names from academia and industry alike such as Motorola Solutions, Keysight Technologies, UniMAP, MTUN and KISMEC.

Motorola and Keysight

A visit to Motorola Solutions, Penang

Undoubtedly some of the big names in the telecommunication industry, it was truly a privilege to be able to host and be hosted by these two companies. This was the first time we have visited Motorola’s factory in Penang, and also the first time we have the honor of hosting Keysight in our office as we discuss and take turns presenting on what have to offer and what we are doing.

It was an opportunity for us to showcase some of our products and services that we are proud of such as our CSAT filters, Spurious Free filters as well as our AI Tuning work and much more to the staff engineers and managers of both companies. We also gladly answer many of the questions regarding the capabilities of our company. These visits affirms that our offerings are unique in the local industry in Malaysia and we are able to meet many of the needs in the current RF industry.

UniMAP and MTUN

As part of our collaboration with UniMAP on the Dielectric Properties Measurement (DPM) project, last week we have the opportunity to host a panel from the Malaysian Technical Univerisity Network (MTUN) for a visitation and evaluation of the project. This is our first ever collaboration with an academia in completing a research grant as an industry partner.

A joint-presentation was given by both UniMAP and us on the achievements of the project as well as giving a demo of the software, coaxial probes and tools. It was overall a successful presentation and evaluation.

KISMEC

One of the biggest demand in the local industry is talent development and trainings. Industry and academia alike are always looking for skilled trainers who can provide the necessary certified courses in the area of RF and Microwave. And we are looking to provide for that.

Last week we visited Kedah Industrial Skills and Management (KISMEC) development center to discuss on any opportunities of collaboration. We believe that to sustain the industry and its development, talent developments are very crucial and by partnering with centers like KISMEC offers a great opportunity to create certified programs for training local talents in the field of RF and Microwave.

Conclusion

It was surely a busy yet exciting week! And here’s to hoping for more opportunities like this in the future. Always looking forward to making new friends and exploring new potential collaborations.
